Hi! This is Mika. I'm a multidisciplinary designer based in New York. Currently at Lumonic, I am designing tools for private market investors that reimagine the future of portfolio monitoring, making the most complex finance workflows feel simple and trustworthy.

Joined as employee #2 and led design across the full product, from data extraction and form builder tool to marketing site, collateral, and decks. Also pushed a few PRs with the help from claude and eng. We grew from 0 to 40 customers and were acquired by PitchBook in March 2025.
Data Extraction
Designed Lumonic's core extraction experience, which pulls financial metrics from varying files and formats into auditable, structured data. The work focused on defining a human-in-the-loop model: automated enough to save effort & accurate enough for analysts to trust.
Lu AI
Designed the experience around Lu, Lumonic's AI agent. Users can ask questions like "show me revenue growth rate trend for healthcare companies in dark blue bar chart" and get a ready-to-present chart instantly.
Portfolio Overview
To help portfolio managers see what's on track and what needs attention, I explored ways to surface AI-powered summary of the portfolio-level health at a glance.
2FA Auth
Redesigned Carta's two-factor authentication (2FA) submission flow, reducing reset rates by 20% and creating a smoother security experience for 2 million+ users.
Venture Loan
2021 - 2023
Led design for Carta's venture loan product including internal tools and customer products. Simplified complex fund structures and interest calculations, giving General Partners (GP) clarity and control over their credit lines.
Installment-only Card
Mastercard was developing a white-label installment card product where every transaction auto converts into a payment plan. I designed the end-to-end mobile experience, focusing on making repayment and plan extensions feel intuitive.
